
In 2005, sexuality educator A’magine was traveling throughout New York with four other gynecological teaching associates (GTAs), each using their own bodies to teach those training in the medical field how to perform breast and pelvic exams. The work of GTAs, unknown to many outside of the medical sphere, is a very intimate transactional experience that provides future doctors, nurses, and physician assistants the ability to practice their clinical skills while receiving critical feedback from a responsive professional. A’magine knew that the work they were doing would make a compelling documentary, and so she assembled a team.
