Early in my career, I thought that being an engineer meant solving immediate problems: platform issues, debugging edge cases, and building integrations. I loved the clarity, the logic, the puzzle solving. But over time, I started to see the bigger system. Problems did not just need technical solutions; they needed better questions. Questions about how the system was designed, who it served, and what consequences were invisible to the engineers in the room.
