Career Advisor – Architect Your Success by Creating Your Own Opportunities: Take Charge of Your Own Destiny

June 6, 2024 by Durga Prasanna Chavali

Durga Prasanna Chavali, born into a lower-middle-class family, witnessed her parents, married at a tender age and battling illiteracy, face the challenges of a society dependent on government sectors due to the absence of a flourishing private sector. The pervasive influence of alcohol clouded those early days, and tragedy struck when Chavali’s father disappeared, succumbing to the effects of heavy drinking. Left with a single mother, the journey took an unexpected turn, and against the odds, both Chavali and her older brother clung to the belief that education was their ticket to a brighter future. Chavali’s relentless dedication to studies bore fruit, and she emerged as a top student, both in high school and as an undergrad. Recognizing the transformative power of engineering, Chavali was guided by family and friends to make the decisive choice to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering. The journey was arduous, but her commitment paid off when she became the first in the family to secure a position with a multinational giant, Tata Consultancy Services.
