As the IEEE Awards Board chair, I had a virtual front row seat at the 2021 IEEE Vision, Innovation, and Challenges (VIC) Summit & Honors ceremony [1] . I have attended many of these ceremonies before, including the ceremony when the first female IEEE Medal of Honor recipient, Dr. Millie Dresselhaus, was honored, whom we featured in the June 2016 issue of IEEE Women in Engineering Magazine . I thought nothing could possibly top that ceremony. After all, it was an in-person event that was accompanied by a “robot thespian,” which interacted with the audience throughout the ceremony.
