Be the Flamingo: Grow Your Career By Balancing the Known and Unknown

Planning for a long-term career in engineering and technology can be challenging when you don’t know what innovations might be around the corner. Tiffany A. Sargent, chief Internet of Things (IoT) architect for the U.S. Channel Scale and Partners in the Sales and Marketing Group and senior principal engineer at Intel Corporation, has this advice: Don’t let yourself get too comfortable, and don’t think there’s only one ladder to climb. Throughout her career, Sargent has made it a priority to continuously learn new technologies while also tackling different roles. With her own unique and broad set of experiences, Sargent gave herself the solid background to take on the interdisciplinary nature of today’s complex systems.
